Currently, I am a 6-8th grade academic interventionist supporting students in both reading and math. Additionally, I work to support teachers in the integration of literacy and technology across the curriculum. I am passionate about learning, reading, equitable education, student choice, creating, technology integration, animals, and dance. I think schools should be places where kids want to be, and it’s up to us to make them that way.
I have a B.S. in Elementary Education, a M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language and an ED.S. in Educational Administration – Teacher Leadership. All three degrees are from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running, and crafts, as well as spending time with my husband. I also judge school-based dance and flag teams for the Illinois Drill Team Association and the Illinois High School Association. I serve on the ethics committee and judging committee for IDTA and was inducted into their hall of fame in 2018.
