Last year at this time, I set an ambitious goal to write one blog post per week. My goal was to be reflective on my practices, thinking about both celebrations and challenges.
However, life happens – and I only blogged once. The entire year.
Oops.
Since setting a weekly blog goal for myself didn’t seem to work last year, I’m going to take a different approach this time.
For the 19-20 school year, I’m excited to be returning to a regular classroom setting. I’ll be working with 7th grade ELA students and 8th grade science students. This is my first time teaching science, and my first time teaching 7th graders.
I’m headed into year 15, but it feels like year 1 all over again.
This year I’m hoping to use my blog to talk more about my specific classroom practices, along with general celebrations and challenges. I’m hoping to get here at least once a month, but you never know what the year has in store.
That’s one of the best parts about teaching. Each year is as unique as the students who walk into our classroom.
I look forward to sharing our journey with you.
