Getting it Together: Celebrations, Challenges, and Changes

In August, I set the goal for myself of one reflective blog each week. I thought that I would be able to maintain that during the year. I had achievable goals of celebrations, challenges, and changes.

My initial goal was 5 celebrations, 3 challenges, and 2 changes each week.

It’s December (2 weeks before break), and I’m posting only my third blog for the school year.

I haven’t done ANY of the reflection posts I had planned.

But, I’ve done other things; I joined a policy fellowship with Teach Plus that is taking up more of my time than I had planned. I mentored a new judge with the dance team organization I work for which has been taking up some time lately. I started a Project LIT Book club at my school. I’ve been going to the gym more, which is important for long-term health. The paraprofessional I’ve worked with for the past 8 years got a new job, so I’ve been training someone new. I’m serving as a mentor for a new ASCD Emerging Leader.

So while I didn’t accomplish my goal, I have accomplished quite a bit!

With all of those celebrations and challenges. My change for 2019 is to alter my goal to one reflective post each month.

I look forward to checking in! 😀
